Sound class 9 notes

Sound  Sound wave:- A sound is a form of energy that is produced by a vibrating object. These vibrations Continue to and give the sensation of hearing. Production of the sound and propagation of sound Sound is produced when we vibrate any object and vibrating objects disturb the particles of the medium through which sound travel. These vibrations are continued to move the particle and reach at another end. Diagram How the vibrations transferred by A tuning fork The vibrations are transferred by the tuning fork by consecutive compression and rarefaction regions. Compression It is the reason in a medium where the leg of tuning fork moves outward and creates the region of high pressure which is called the compression region. Rarefaction region it is a region in a medium where there is high density,is called rarefaction region. Mechanical waves: - The waves which required the medium to travel from one place to other place, that waves are known as Mec...

Chapter-wise Notes Work, power and energy class 9

Work, power and energy Work Work is said to be done when a force is applied on an object and there is displacement produce in it. work is done on the trolly In this case, force is applied on the trolly and trolly get displace from its position, it means work is done the trolly.   Or work done on an object is the product of displacement and force.   W=F.S   Here, W is work done F is force applied on an object S is displacement produced in an object. Unit of work done It has unit Joule or   newton metre (Nm) . How to Define 1 Joule . A  force of 1 Newton is applied on a body and 1 metre displacement is produced in a body then 1 joule of work is said to be done on the body.   Condition for work should be done 1. Force must be applied to a body. 2. Displacement must be produced in our body.   Work done by a force at an angle with  displacement Force f is applied on a body and  theta angle between direction of displacement and ...

Flotation chapter-wise notes class 9

Flotation Flotation When an object is placed on the surface of a liquid if the object float on the surface this condition is called flotation. Buoyancy The property of the liquid which makes object float on its surface. this property is called by buoyancy. Density It is defined as mass per unit volume. Formula Unit:   It has unit kilogram per cubic meters ( Kg / m 3  ). Relative density (RD) It is defined as the ratio of the density of the liquid to the density of the water at 4 degrees Celsius. Formula Relative density= density of the liquid /density of the water at 4 degree Celsius Relative density is constant it has no unit .  At 4 degrees Celsius water has a maximum density that's why we take the water at 4 degrees Celsius. Pressure Pressure is defined as a force acting per unit area. Formula Unit newton per square meters ( N/m 2 ) or pascal( Pa) Define one Pascal Pressure is said to be one Pascal when a force of ...
